Dan joined the School of Psychology as a Lecturer in Sport and Exercise Psychology in June 2023, having previously worked at Durham University and the University of Winchester.

Dan is a Sport and Exercise Psychologist in Training (SEPiT), providing sport, exercise, and performance psychology support to the GB Women' s Goalball programme and voluntary support to the mental health charity Brave Mind.

Dan is a Professional Doctorate student at the University of Portsmouth, researching primarily within the domain of professional development among Sport and Exercise Psychology Practitioners. His research interests lie in self-care, professional quality of life, professional identity, mental well-being and organisational care.

Dan teaches primarily on the MSc Sport and Exercise Psychology programme, specifically on Applied Sport and Performance Psychology (PSY8076), and Professional Development for Sport and Exercise Psychologists - (PSY8073). He also provides taught content for Undergraduate programmes within the School.
