Jade Woods, Chair of the UG Student-Staff Committee

Welcome to the School of English Literature, Language and Linguistics at Newcastle University.

We are delighted that you have applied to study with us. We hope you have been able to book onto an in-person Offerholder Day. Our final in-person event is on the 24th of April and we have a virtual event on the 14th of May.  You should have emails in your inbox with your invitations. If you can't find them, please email Meg on the address below and we can book you on.

If you can’t make an event and have questions not answered below, please get in touch with:

  •  Dr Ruth Connolly (for Literature, Literature with Creative Writing and Literature and History);
  •  Dr Rory Turnbull (for Language, Linguistics and Linguistics with a Modern Language);
  •  Meg Holtom (for general queries and student life).

We can email you back or book a Zoom call. We’d love to hear from you.

You can also follow our student-run Instagram (ncl_english), our Careers blog, or read our regular newsletter.

Most importantly, we wish you the best of luck in your coursework and exams.
