During this seminar Mara will be considering the purpose of her paper, and how it contributes to map the publics’ perceptions of accountants’ image(s) and identify some of its (their) determinants. In particular, the group focuses on how accountants are seen by different groups of people and how they see themselves, along with some of the factors by which the professional image of accountants might be influenced.
Mara is Lecturer in Accounting at Bocconi University and faculty member at SDA Bocconi School of Management. Director of the Master Programme in Accounting, Auditing and Control. Member of the Scientific Committee of EARNet (European Auditing Research Network). Editorial Board member of Auditing: A Journal of Practice & Theory, Accounting and Business Research and Issues in Accounting Education (2010-2012).
