Participation research kick-starts Newcastle mini-park

The output of a community based participation research project has been published by the ESRC as an impact case study.  The work by Armelle Tardiveau and Daniel Mallo used resident and stakeholder participation to help design, and subsequently seek DCLG funding for, a ‘pocket park’ in Fenham (Newcastle).   The park was opened in May 2016 and was the result of workshops and street trials with residents, ensuring full engagement of this important redesign, and has concluded with high usage rates of the resulting park.
