Alumnus Shortlisted for RIBA House of the Year

Architect Dan Kerr (of MawsonKerr) has had his work on Shawm house, Northumberland, recognised and shortlisted for the RIBA’s House of the Year award.  The house which has been ‘sensitively conceived’ was designed by Dan in conjunction with the owner’s son, who constructed the building, to provide a home for his parents. 

It was noted that ‘Shawm house is a standout example of what is possible with clarity of thought and exceptional and focused deployment of an architects skills’.

Dan is an alumnus of the School and currently teaches into the BA Architecture (Part 1) programme.
